So I am trying to get my house clean enough for me to be comfortable over the holidays. Which means cleaning out the basement to house the mess making dog for when we are both at work. I am covered in dust and have been doing all the work myself, with the exception of dragging some boxes up and down the stairs. Because he can't just see what needs to be done - he needs constant instruction and supervision when cleaning. Thankfully this doesn't seem to carry over to his career and such.
So I am trying to get rid of anything I really don't need. I managed to condense my 3 tubs of paper "ephemera" down to less than a tub. And I have much to take to Value Village. I am finally letting go of the antique "couples" chair. Its so shredded and covered in animal "Stuff" I just don't want to look at it anymore. I once had lofty dreams to have it reupholstered in terry cloth so it could sit in the large bathroom I would have one day. Haha one day. Well its time to start letting go of things that I don't really need to keep.
Found a bunch of stuffed animals packed in storage and I am in the process of cleaning them. Some went in the washing machine, others I am going to have to vaccum and air out. I shall have to go to my cleaning resource to see how to get them clean enough for my liking to be able to inhabit the baby's room.
Decided that this year we shall buy a new tree when they go on sale after Christmas me thinks. Ours is old and tired and the box is falling apart.
After Christmas we are probably giving our 2 months notice and moving into 3 bedroom digs. We don't want to change our open door policy to friends and family and really need the spare bedroom/craft room area.
